Doctor Arthur F. Eddy was born in Boston , Massachusetts . He graduated from Stonehill College in North Easton , Massachusetts Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Doctor Eddy received his D.M.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania . After serving 4 years in the U.S. Army Dental Corps at Tripler Army Medical Center , Honolulu , Hawaii and Reynolds Hospital , Fort Sill , Oklahoma , he returned home to Massachusetts . He opened his dental office in Shirley on November 14, 1981. Dr. Eddy opened his new state of the art dental facility in March 2005.

Doctor Eddy has been selected by his colleagues for prestigious membership as a Fellow in the American College of Dentists and a Fellow in the Pierre Fouchard Academy of Dentistry. He is an active member of the Massachusetts Dental Society. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts has selected Doctor Eddy as a Consultant for the Disabled. In 1999, Doctor Eddy was recognized by the Massachusetts Dental Society as a "Volunteer Hero for Dentistry."

Doctor Eddy is also an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA). Doctor Eddy served on the ADA Council on Governmental Affairs from 1996-2000 where he served as the National Chairman from 1999-2000. He was selected by the ADA as their national representative to the Surgeon General's Conference in June 2000. Doctor Eddy has testified before Congress on behalf of the Indian Health Services for improved dental health care. He was also a member of the ADA Task Force on Access for Care for the Underserved. Dr. Eddy is currently the New England representative and National Treasurer for the American Dental Association Political Action Committee (ADPAC). Over the past 15 years Doctor Eddy has worked tirelessly to improve patient rights and access to better oral health care on the state and national level.

Doctor Eddy is active in the community. Over the past 24 years Doctor Eddy has been involved with many groups including Shirley Town Soccer and Little League, the Ayer/Shirley Lions Club, the American Legion, Shirley Business Association, the Boy Scouts of America Ayer Troop 3 Committee, the Advisory Board of Country Day School in Groton, MA, and St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Shirley. He was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Shirley Co-operative Bank. Doctor Eddy enjoys speaking to groups, especially children and adolescents regarding good dental hygiene and oral health care.
